Hey there, fellow orchid aficionados! Tom here, bringing you the inside scoop on this week's orchid bonanza at EZ Greens Orchids. We’re unpacking shipments from our two favorite growers, and let me tell you, the variety is off the charts! But remember, it’s a treasure hunt—some of these beauties are in such limited supply we've only got a handful in bloom.
Here’s the lowdown on what’s hitting our shelves:
First up, we've snagged a few of the elusive Gram. scriptum Citrines. These haven’t set their spikes yet, so we’re dishing them out for a cool $40 a pop in 6” pots. It's a steal for these large, impressive orchids.
The parade doesn’t stop there. We’ve got Phal-type Dens just bursting with potential. From the rich, deep burgundy of Weekend Market to the vibrant fuschia-pink Airy Wealthy Stripes and the delicate Hayan Pinks, these guys are quick to grow and even quicker to bloom. And don’t get me started on the Antelope Den Butterscotch Ube—personal fave, seriously.
Craving some yellow in your life? Check out our Yellow flowering Dens like Regal Vista and Golden Aya, or the stunning Lautoria Den Hybrid, a mix between Roy Tokanuga and Bill Takematsu, flaunting those irresistible purple highlights. And for something a bit different, the Den. Sunny Vista x Dunokayla offers creamy petals with unique, star-shaped allure.
For those in the know, our Den bractiosum and Dawn Marie are about to make your friends green with envy. These rarities bloom clusters of flowers right off their pseudobulbs—absolute showstoppers.
And yes, we’ve got hybrids too! Our Brassavola and Epidendrum hybrids are ready to dazzle, including two varieties of Key Limes that grow like wildfire here in St. Croix. New on the block is the Epidendrum hybrid Nursery Rhymes, with a beautifully frilly lip, and if you’re hunting for something truly unique, the E. bractesens is a must-see.
Don’t forget the Oncidiums—like Heaven Scent, which literally smells like Hershey’s cocoa, and the twinkling Oncidium Tsizu Marguerite.
But wait, there’s more!
Looking for a deal? We’re rolling out over 40 bare root and potted Dens and Cats at just $15 each. And for those who want a bit more bloom for their buck, our assorted Cattleyas and the Bllra. Mem. Donald Yamadas are looking fabulous.
Last but not least, let's talk Paphiopedilum. Win and I grabbed a couple for ourselves back in February, and they're still showing off in our living room—mine’s even popping out new fans!
So, what are you waiting for?
Swing by, pick your favorites, and maybe discover some new ones. We're here to make your orchid dreams come true, six days a week.
Happy Orchiding,
Tom and Win
